reshly frozen and live/fresh items (non-frozen) ship in separate boxes.
Frozen items ship with dry ice. Shipments with dry ice will remain frozen during transit and will arrive frozen.
Live and fresh items (non-frozen) ship with frozen gel packs. The frozen gel packs are used to keep your seafood cool and fresh.
The dry ice/gel packs are placed within an insulated liner in a corrugated box. The liner keeps the cold air in and the warm air out. The combination of the liner, dry ice/gel packs, and the box has been designed and tested to keep your seafood at the optimal temperature.
Consuming raw or undercooked meats, poultry, seafood, shellfish, or eggs may increase your risk of foodborne illness. We recommend cooking your seafood to an internal temperature of 145°F for 15 seconds.
The Architectural Essence of Wild Sockeye
There is a profound difference between salmon that is raised and salmon that is wild. The Sockeye (Oncorhynchus nerka) is an athlete of the ocean; its firm texture and striking color are the direct results of a life spent navigating thousands of miles of icy saltwater and a natural diet of nutrient-dense krill. This isn’t just seafood; it is a seasonal legacy captured at the peak of its biological perfection. Also known as red salmon, sockeye is the second smallest of the five main Pacific species, just after pink salmon. It’s widely prized for its rich flavor and firm texture, making it a top choice for both fresh and canned seafood. Naturally leaner, its flesh has a vibrant orange hue from its ocean diet. We value sockeye for its sustainability and versatility across a wide range of salmon dishes.
A Nutritional Powerhouse
Beyond its culinary prestige, the Wild Sockeye is a dense concentration of wellness. It possesses one of the highest concentrations of Omega-3 fatty acids (EPA and DHA) found in nature, essential for cardiovascular health and cognitive function. Rich in Vitamin D and high-quality protein, it serves as a clean, keto-friendly fuel that supports an active lifestyle without compromise.
Culinary Versatility & Nuance
Because wild salmon is leaner than its farmed counterparts, it demands a gentle hand. We recommend a quick sear to medium-rare to preserve the silken moisture of the flake. Whether finished with a squeeze of charred lemon or a delicate herb emulsion, the flavor remains the protagonist of the plate.
